A Joyful Ride

What a great ride we had yesterday after work! Jenni and Maple came over and off we went for an early Autumn after work adventure. We headed for the sunshine rather than the shade...it was 90 (?) but the mosquitos were about and they congregate in the shade. So.... we rode towards the river and then took  the levee to the woods, turned back and took a road between the corn and safflower back towards home. We went to what we call Skips Landing...almost (lots of commotion and bugs , so we turned around ). Lots of trotting and a really nice breeze as we headed home, a little canter just for the joy of it! That's it! A Joyful Ride! Makes for a Joyful Heart! Thank you Cheyenne the Wonder Horse !

And then on Friday....Farmer Boy and I are going to see Ricky Skaggs at the Mondavi Center!!! What a week! aaaaha!

Had a ....

Had a great ride on Sunday morning...
Rode to the woods and to the wine grapes....
 The humans and the horses snacked on chardonnay grapes....
Had the heater on in the car this morning....
Wore pantyhose and didn't have  bare legs  today.....
Blow dried my hair...it was cool enough...
Cool this morning...warm now....the leaves are changing and starting to dry...
It was misty this morning....
Hopefully the flies won't be as sticky....
I am going to grill chicken tonite, nurture my horses, cuddle my cats  and then walk my dog...

And that will be.....Enough ...

OK see...

This is they way it is sometimes....there are so many people and pressures in life that want to throw you off your game...or balance...or goals...or whatever...the key must be to stay in touch...in tune with your vibe...your joy...your balance...and I know a really simple way for me to do that...you on other hand have to figure out your own way to do that...for me the key is:

So...just sittin' here thinking

I am thinking that sometimes reflection is just stupid...navel gazing can get a bit crusty...other times I am amazed by what I feel I am learning in this life...could be it is hot and yucky outside...98 and September dry ...could be I am full of sh*t today...or everyday...

Well, what is going on my mind these days? Changes and trying to find a way to adapt to "change" this time around with some grace and wisdom....
OK, mistakes will be made, no one...I repeat no one is perfect and I cannot hold myself to a standard that is not realistic. I do have new rules to live by...treat my body and mind with care...no wheat, no sugar , no overindulgence of anything. Treat others with care, allow other people to work on their own issues in their own time...can't control the universe. Have some fun everyday......and last but certainly not least...Remember the best gift above all else is .....love.

I remember the feeling of the day ...cool, crisp and clear. I was riding alone with Cheyenne. We were crossing Deer Creek and he stopped to drink...it was a quiet fall/winter day... we shared  such a peaceful time together.
Thank you Cheyenne for some of the best moments of my life.
