A really nice weekend...

Saturday Cheyenne and I spent alot of time together and had a good ride/walk around the Farm . I am so lucky to have a good connection with such a wonderful companion horse. Later that afternoon, Farmer Boy and I went to the town of Lockeford to the Feed Store...and bought nothing. We went to Lockeford Meats and bought homemade sausages and bacon for Christmas day waffles and bacon. Then down the road to Clements and the Ricotti Saddle Company Christmas Open House.  Cowboys and  Cowgirls  were in attendance and what a spread they put out for their Cowpoke guests. They served lasagna, cesar salad, crustini, white chili and many desserts. I liked the Lemon/Basil cookies...really..very good....a simple yet complex flavor. They had local wines and coffee which you could add  Bailey's Irish Cream and/or Kahlua to. I talked to  an older gal who was a sculptor and overheard a bit of a conversation about an old saddle maker who has passed on and a fellow who got bucked off another fella's horse. I am very glad I don't have to put up with that kind of foolishness (Bucking)..... Love you Cheyenne the Wonder Horse.

Sunday Jenni came over with her horse Ricky. So.... Cheyenne, me, Jenni and Ricky went for about an hour and fourty five minute ride . We headed South and made alot of turns and changed direction due to the wayward Black Angus cow that is still loose in the bottom land.....ended up going North before heading back home.

Later that afternoon I made a Tuscan Beef stew with Old Vine 1924 Zinfandel that was perfect if I do say so myself.
Needless to say I slept really well.
