Life is Good

And So I Leave You With This...2010...

Merry Christmas and A Joyous New Year. I hope all the messages of Faith are True. I hope we have a Journey beyond this Earth. I want to learn more about myself in the coming year...I want to learn more about what may or may not be really important and true for my life. I think I have spent plenty of time trying to figure out what is important and true for others...and not enough time figuring out what is true for me.

Lucky for Us...

the rain did not pound like they thought it would. Down south the rain is pounding the earth. We had a soft rain last night and I can see some blue sky peeking out from the clouds this morning.
Well...how do I view things this morning...with the hope that I learn what my soul/mind/body needs to learn ...and that I remember those lessons. I hope that I pay attention to the  joy in day to day living...to remember  to stop and spend time with my animals and love my humans. I hope that the people I choose to share this time on earth with, love me and see that I am  a student of living just like they are.

This Morning

I heard the Sandhill Cranes talking to each other from down in the farm land...between Deer Creek and the Cosumnes River....I love the way they talk to each other...

I Just Want to Say...

Our Pal Al...is no more...he has left us all behind on the planet...I hope his journey takes him to a better place...a place where he is happy and feels safe....Journey onward Al....

What I wish I was Doing...

woo-hoo Friday

Well...the rain  started this morning about 4:30...soft rain so far.
Fed the horses, dog and kitties. Locked Zane and Emmylou up to stay dry in their house.Later I have a hair appointment and then I will stop by and say hey  to Paula and catch up with her...and...have her tell me all about her vacation to Las Vegas and Texas!
Cookie exchange on Sunday with the Wilton group. The cookies I am making are basically the Quaker oats recipe...but double it and melt the butter instead of beating/whipping it. Add hazelnuts, walnuts and bittersweet chocolate chips....yummm...stretchy pants are not allowed...get out and move :)
Man oh man I have to watch the carbs...sugar just kills me...oooooh so much truth in that utterance...
love and honor yourself

Well.....

...the weekend was pretty good. Did some riding on Saturday...better than nothing...rode across the creek...it was running . Sunday, Jenni and Maple came over to play. Cheyenne walked out in front like a pro. What a good boy he is. We sat and watched as  a flock of Sandhill Cranes were flying over us...sooooo beautiful..calm, serene. ...perfect afternoon.
Last night I stuffed a beef roast with smashed garlic and roasted  it nice and slow....yumm, butternut squash and asparagus on the side.

WooHooo Friday

OK! I made it through...
This weekend  will be  filled with....laundry, visiting in Wilton and riding horses with gal pals ...woohooo.
Time to breathe....aaaaah that feels better.
This week I caught the feral cat that has been trying to move in on us ( that is another story)...took him to Bradshaw Vet and got him (yes, turned out to be a him)  fixed under the feral cat program. I told Farmer Boy...I bet he feels like he was abducted by aliens today...and Farmer Boy said " yeah, several times".

Happy December 2010

Well, OK oh my it has been awhile since I blogged oh great bloggo....
Let's see on Thanksgiving ( yes it really has been that long)...I started the day by riding with Jenni (Maple), Paula ( Copper), Charlotte (Hannah) and my boy Cheyenne. We walked to the Creek and waded through the highest water we have ever been in...the water was almost up to our stirrups! What a great way to start a Thanksgiving Day!
Farmer Boy and I went to Wilton for dinner with friends and their family...my pies did not turn out as I had hoped they would. I tried a new recipe for the pie crust...dang...the crust was like Flintstones crust. Enough said...Farmer Boy said he is looking forward to Christmas cookies to (hopefully) wipe out the memory of the pumpkin pies that fell short...ha ha.

I took the Friday before my birthday off ...Jenni and I went shopping at Thriftown! Half off all the clothes and blue tagged items! woohoo we got some good deals. Later that day Farmer Boy and I went to see the movie "Burlesque"...a good movie, just think old style musical with Cher as the motherly Rosalind Russell type. Then (yes ....more) we went to Tres Hermanas restaurant ..I had the chile rellenno and carnitas plate...OK, OK I had two shots of good tequila before eating....makes everything all comfy cozy it does.
On Saturday Farmer Boy and I went to the Crocker Art Museum , and took in some culture. We had lunch there (Hamburgers and French Fries)...and then stopped in Mid-Town . Farmer Boy went to "Swanbergs", a really cool dudes store that sells Hawaiian shirts new and vintage. I went to the store next door...it turned out to be the "Sunlight and Spirit"...a faith and hope shop. I got a refrigerator magnet that says"Namaste...the spirit in me bows to the divine in you"...nice. Also, I got a magnet that reads" you will gain wisdom when you start to live the life that the Creator meant for you" ...a good thought  to think about...an American Indian is the author...I will have to check the name of the person. On  Sunday, Farmer Boy and I went to 7:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph's...then to the grocery store...one should never go to the Nuggett grocery store if they haven't eaten! ha-ha! Fact...they have really good bagels there. In the afternoon Jenni and Maple came over and we went for a short ride...better than nothing. It started getting windy and rainy so we stopped, got the horses taken care of  and had 1/1/2 beers! woohoo...too cold to ride but not for beer :)
oh, I put some pumpkin pie spice in my dark french roast coffee grounds before brewing....one word....yummm!
talk to you later. Happy December!
