Farmer Boys Favorite Dessert This Summer/Fall

Pear/Blackberry Crumble

Grease/butter a baking dish... last time I used an 8X8 baking dish...

Make Crumble topping...put in mixing bowl:

Oatmeal/old fashioned...a few cups
1/4 cup Flax Meal
1/4 cup oat Bran
 a pinch of salt
a few good shakes of cinnamon
Brown sugar...a cup or so...maybe less if you don't want it too sweet (3/4 cup then maybe...taste and see)
1 stick of softened butter
Mix with hands until crumbly

Then...you will need...

8-9 pears...depending upon size...peel lightly and  slice into greased baking dish
either thawed or fresh blackberries..as much as you have...I had a quart size bag from when Farmer Boy picked them and I froze some for just this kind of reason...
put on top of pears...
put crumble mixture on top of berries

place in 375 degree pre-heated oven for an hour
take out using pot holders...cool slightly and enjoy with vanilla icecream.

There you go...Happy Fall.
It is 52 degrees today...last Thursday it was 98 degrees.
